Thank you for having the heart of Jesus
Posted on Apr 20, 2020Bishop McGrattan has started a campaign through the Diocese called “Thank you for having the heart of Jesus”.
With a grateful heart, we say thanks to all workers in our critical infrastructure industries and those who courageously help others. These are today's heroes, the people who work tirelessly serving others in these sectors: Energy and utilities, Information and Communications Technologies, Finance, Health, Food, Water, Transportation, Safety, Government, Manufacturing, Charitable Works, and the good and caring neighbours.
We encourage you to share your gratitude with our everyday heroes, to the many people – men, women, adults and children – who have shown kindness and determination throughout the many challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Pray for them - see Sacred Heart Prayer below
- Send them an email, postcard or show the love on your front door/windows
- Say thank you whenever you see them serving in health care facilities, grocery stores, gas stations, banks, those delivering your packages or those who are ready to listen.

This campaign began on Sunday, April 19, 2020- Divine Mercy Sunday. The day that we recognize the forgiveness of our sins as was given by God through St. Faustina in the 1930’s.
Twenty years ago, St. John Paul II dedicated this Sunday to the Divine Mercy. In his homily, Pope Francis recalled how St. Faustina said that Jesus told her: “I am love and mercy itself; there is no human misery that could measure up to my mercy.”
Pope Francis said this is the time to rebuild the world in a more human, inclusive, sustainable way and that failure to take the opportunity to do so will bring other tragedies. American Magazine - Pope Francis
