PD Day Childcare

Medicine Hat Catholic Schools' PD Day and School Break Childcare program will run for its third year beginning August 26, 2024. We are thrilled to offer a program that serves our division families in need of childcare support during the school year.

The 2024-2025 program calendar has been approved and families can now begin securing spots for the upcoming school year.

The first week of PD Day Childcare is scheduled for August 26-30, 2024. Families can select one or all dates available! *Registration and payment for August childcare is required by August 15, 2024. Late registrations will not be accepted *

Drop-ins for any PD Day childcare dates throughout the school year will not be accepted due to staffing and licensing requirements. 

• Email PD Day Childcare Coordinator, Tammy Stovka (tammy.stovka@mhcbe.ab.ca) to request to have a program registration form assigned to you (registration will be completed online through SchoolEngage).
• In the online registration form, you will be given the option to tentatively select dates of attendance.
• Following the submission of the registration form, the PD Day Childcare Coordinator will contact each family directly to discuss enrollment, payment and subsidy options (if requested by the family) and share details of the program. 

Please note: You will need to know your PowerSchool Parent Portal password for existing students or your SchoolEngage password for new to the division students.

PD Day Childcare Calendar 2024-2025

Our PD Day Child Care Program offers high-quality, licensed child care to children in grades K-6 who attend a school within the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education.

Our program provides children with opportunities to explore their interests, learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Our program offers:

• Play-based, active programming,
• Theme-based activities including dramatic play, games, and stories, as well as opportunities to build and create,
• Child-led choices for group or individual activities,
• Daily outside play,
• Low child-to-adult ratios

The cost is $50.00 per day per child. This cost covers adequate staffing and activities for the program.

Payment is required 2 weeks prior to the session date(s).

We are excited to announce the extended hours of 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

All students from Kindergarten-Grade 6 enrolled in one of our Catholic schools.

• Indoor shoes
• Water bottle
• Two snacks and a lunch

The location for PD Day Childcare for the 2024-2025 school year will be located at St. Louis School.

The PD Day Childcare Program will be coordinated by Tammy Stovka, who is qualified and experienced in childcare. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact her.

Yes! If you pre-register you are still able to add or remove dates as necessary.

Drop-ins will not be accepted as per licensing requirements. 

Yes! PD Day Childcare Registration is ongoing. However, spots are limited, it is our recommendation that families register earlier to guarantee their child’s spot for the preferred dates.

PD Day/School Break Childcare is only available to students K-6 registered in Medicine Hat Catholic Schools for the current school year.
