Winter Break Extended (ELP-Grade 12)

Dear parents/guardians,
As you may be aware, yesterday the Government of Alberta announced an extended winter break extended for K-12 students across the province. The kindergarten to Grade 12 winter break will be extended provincewide to January 10. Click here for the full press release.
In an effort to keep our families as informed as possible, we have a few details we are able to share at this time.
- MHCBE Early Learning Programs are included in the extended winter break and will return to class on January 10.
- January diploma exams have been cancelled. A decision will be made later in 2022 regarding April and June diploma exams.
- Alberta Health and Municipal Affairs’ PPE Task Force will also deliver 8.6 million rapid tests and 16.5 million masks to schools, starting the week of January 10. Please note: rapid tests will not be administered at school, they will be sent home for parents to administer to their children if they choose to do so.
It is our hope that we will all safely return to in-person learning on Monday, January 10. Division updates will continue to be shared with staff and families as information becomes available.
