Consecration of Russia & Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Posted on Mar 22, 2022

The Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by Pope Francis will take place during the Celebration of Penance on March 25, 2022 in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

The Pope and Bishops are asking people around the world to pray in solidarity for the Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. When the Church consecrates to Mary, we are asking for her protection, guidance and intercession.

At 10:00 am on March 25, all Medicine Hat Catholic staff and students will pray together with the Holy Father Pope Francis and the bishops of the world to ask for Mary's protection, guidance and intercession.

Let us pray:

God of peace and justice,
We pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear tomorrow,
That your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
For wisdom, discernment, and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above, all, we pray for all your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
That you would hold and protect them
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen

Bishop McGrattan will join the Holy Father in the Act of Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at St. Mary's Cathedral on Friday, March 25. The Consecration will be livestreamed on Friday, March 25 at 9:45 am. Watch live on Youtube or Facebook.
