Excellence in Catholic Education Award 2024
Posted on Mar 18, 2024The Board of Trustees for the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education are pleased to announce Mrs. Shannon English, Principal of St. Michael's School as the recipient of the 2024 Excellence in Catholic Education Award. As the recipient of this award, Mrs. English will be honoured at the Blueprints Annual Conference hosted by the Alberta Catholic School Trustees’ Association.
The Excellence in Catholic Education Award honours exemplary contributions to Catholic education. Mrs. Shannon English has been an integral part of Medicine Hat Catholic School Division for over 30 years as she has shared her talents as a teacher, school counselor, vice-principal, and principal. Shannon has impacted the Catholic culture of the division and of each school that she has been a part of. Her servant leadership has been an example for staff and students alike. As an active member of Holy Family Parish and a music ministry leader both in the parish and division, Shannon is an authentic witness to a lived Catholic faith!
Background on the Award: The Excellence in Catholic Education Award was established by the Council of Catholic School Superintendents of Alberta to communicate the benefits of Catholic education and its value to society. This prestigious award recognizes Catholic teachers and administrators in Alberta who have done an exemplary job in preparing our youth to grow into outstanding citizens. In our division, a recipient is awarded annually. We extend our congratulations to each of this year’s nominees who are passionate about Catholic education, inspire their students, and are committed to fostering the well-being of youth!
